Projects:
- Selections — products I find interesting
- America's Super Zips — where in America should you live?
Questions I'm thinking about:
- What decisions get worse when you reason your way to them? Marriage is the clearest case — you marry someone because something in them calls to you, not because the logic checks out. Reason is a good filter but a terrible compass. What else belongs in this class?
- Who becomes the coordinating institution for AI adoption in middle-income developing countries? Governments? Entrepreneurs? International development organizations? Research labs? No obvious coordinating institution seems to be in charge today.
- How do we equalize global access to compute?
- What are sectors where, when the human is taken out, the value of the product demonstrably decreases in a manner that customers are less willing to pay for it?
